Held in Montreal, the 1967 International and Universal Exposition, known colloquially as Expo 67, was one of the most successful world's fairs of the twentieth century. It was the main celebration of Canada's centennial year, and several pavilions became permanent landmarks in Montreal, including the Montreal Casino (formerly the Pavillion de la France) and the Montreal Biosphère (formerly the American Pavilion).
This large aluminum medal (about 52 mm in diameter) comes from the Alcan Pavilion, which is pictured on the obverse. A pair of dolphins grace the reverse.
