Pair of 1964 Canada Dollars & Corporate Milestone Tokens in Lucite Displays, 2pcs (Light Wear)
Two 1964 Charlottetown silver dollars displayed in lucite, evidently produced to celebrate corporate milestones.
The first, produced to celebrate the one hundreth anniversary of Canada Trust in 1964, displays the 1964 silver dollar next to a gold-coloured token that reads "In 2064, when Canada Trust Huron & Erie begins its third century of service to Canadians, coin experts believe 1964 silver dollars will be worth $1000." Canada Trust was acquired by Toronto-Dominion in 2000, but check back in 40-ish years to see if their prediction about the price of silver dollars was correct!
The second, produced to celebrate Dominion Life's 75th anniversary, displays its 1964 dollar next to a silver-coloured token that reads, "In 1989, when the Dominion Life begins its second century of service, the 1964 Centennial Silver Dollar will be a very valuable coin!" As of 2026, a 1964 silver dollar in uncirculated condition goes for about $100. Make of that what you will!As always with these lucite displays, age has given them some scuffs and scratches. Please see images for details.
