Pair of 2012 & 2014 Canada 50-cent Sunken Ocean Liners Silver-Plated Coins, 2pcs (Issues)

Pair of 2012 & 2014 Canada 50-cent Sunken Ocean Liners of the 1910s Silver-Plated Copper Coins, 2pcs (Issues). Includes original COAs.

Raising some of history's most catastropic shipwrecks from their watery resting places, these collectable coins from the Royal Canadian Mint feature gorgeous tributes to the RMS Empress of Ireland and the RMS Titanic. Both ocean liners of the early 1910s, they represented hope, luxury, and progress to those who boarded. The Titanic sank on her maiden voyage in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean; Canadian ships launched from Halifax to help recover the more than 1400 dead. The Empress of Ireland went down only 14 minutes after colliding with another ship near the mouth of the St. Lawrence River, taking 1,012 souls with her. Two maritime disasters; two beautiful memorial coins.

This lot includes:
  • 2012 Canada 50-cent R.M.S. Titanic Silver Plated Copper Coin (Toned) (Scuffed Capsule)
  • 2014 Canada 50-cent Lost Ships - RMS Empress of Ireland Silver Plated Copper Coin (Damaged Sleeve)
Both coins feature selective colourizing and come with their original COAs, clamshell cases, and sleeves. Please note, they do have some minor issues. Images are an example of what you will receive.
